Remembering Elizabeth on Her 10th Angelversary

Elizabeth Kathleen Haher - 10th Anniversary in Heaven

How can it be, my darling,
You've been gone for ten long years?
Seems only yesterday you left,
I still cry bitter tears.

And yet my life has changed, I know,
I've learned some ways to cope.
I've learned to trust God more, I think,
I've learned to have more hope.

I know that you're in heaven, dear,
So happy there---and free!
But I'm the one who's hurting still;
The tears I cry for me.

I try to concentrate on all
The memories that you left,
Instead of feeling miserable,
Disconsolate, bereft.

I try to think of one fine day
When Jesus calls for me,
And He won't have to call me twice--
I'm ready as can be!

I like to think about the way
I'll feel when face to face
With you again, my precious child,
Thanks to God's great grace.

Oh, happy day, I cannot wait!
I hope you'll come for me,
And then together we will sing
For all eternity.
